General Conditions

The Commission for Environmental Control and Planning is responsible for licensing services businesses activities that may adversely affect the environment.
Environmental licenses are issued for one year and must be renewed annually.
To prevent environmental harm, the Commission has placed detailed conditions and regulations regarding the following:

  • Building specifications: location, height, floor and ceiling materials and specifications
  • Noise and vibration levels
  • Lighting
  • Heat effects
  • Ventilation
  • Chemicals and radioactive sources
  • Waste management

There are other business activities that do not require pre-approval by the Environment Control Directorate but are subject to specific environmental conditions and regulations and
may be subject to inspection and follow-up.
At time of commercial registration, the investor will be supplied with those conditions and guidelines.
