Industry and Commerce Minister Dr. Hassan Fakhro confirmed the important role played by small and medium enterprises committee of BCCI in order to enhance small and medium sector, which is today considered the most influential in the economic development at the local and global level.
This came on the sidelines of the meeting which was chaired by Minister of Industry and Commerce with the President and members of the small and medium enterprises Committee of BCCI, where they reviewed the most important points concerning developing small and medium enterprises in the Kingdom of Bahrain and issues related to this vital sector.
As the Minister noted to the economic policy supporting and encouraging small and medium enterprises, which the ministry engages to implement it in with Bahrain Economic Vision 2030, expressing that entrepreneurs are the economic drivers of the country.
He stressed in this regard the importance to enhance cooperation between the Ministry and the Committee through strengthening ties of these bodies to achieve government’s objectives and to provide all required support to strengthen it and raise the productivity to an ambitious level.
They also discussed the latest development of forming a team to follow up problems faced the small and medium enterprises after the ministry held a number of meeting with BCCI representatives and government agencies concerned of small and medium sector and counted problems and obstacles facing this vital sector. Minister’s Council decision to commission the Minister of Industry and Commerce to follow up small and medium enterprises problems and constraints and to find solutions in cooperation and coordination with relevant authorities.
He also confirmed government and the Ministry continue to provide all means of support possible to small and medium sector in order to enable them and enhance their capacity and competitiveness locally and regional.
President and Committee members expressed their appreciations for the great efforts made by the Ministry of Industry and Commerce in order to support all sectors and investment projects in the Kingdom.
